The Qualities of A Seafarer's Wife

What are the qualities that a Seafarer seeks in a woman to be his wife, lover, friend and mother of his children? Is it beauty or brains? It has been said that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder...however, lasting beauty and brains seldom come into one. Intelligence goes deeper than attractiveness or beauty, ever doubt it?

 The point remains the same, and it changes from one person to another. Some may opt for beauty while others may go for brains. Although, no one can say which of these factors  win the comparison. It depends on every individual to decide what is important for them to exist in the "apple of their eyes". It is either to have an extremely beautiful person by your side at all times, to show off your sacred possession or having someone who knows what they are talking about when in a group of people, and it is her intelligence that shines. The choice remained personal. But for me, the beauty of the heart is the lasting beauty of all.
 A seafarer's wife must have a beautiful  heart willing to understand and love unconditionally, and bravely endure the pains, trials, and thrills of  a long distance relationship. The strength and deep of her character and attitude border impeccability. It is because she will be a single parent raising her children and deals with all the family problems alone, when her husband is on board. Her lips allow us to drink the water of life. 
Truly, it is the water that which pours, and the one who drinks it that matters. When all of these three aspects become one, and your talisman is shattered. That oneness can't be known by reasoning alone. 
Indeed, as rare as a gem...the beauty within her and the smartness of her brains, the expression a woman wears on her face is more important than the clothes she wears on her back, because our lives are defined by the actions we take, the love we give and the memories we make. 
To all the Seafarer's wife across the globe...Stand Proud ...You are an Admirable Woman of Love, Strength, Character and Attitude ! Cheers!!!!

    thanks for posting this inspiring description about seafarer's wives.Like you, i am a seaman's wife.Yes, you're definitely right,being a seaman's wife not that easy, both mentally and emotional.

    This really true. A seafarer deserves to have a faithful and loyal wife. And she must always be willing to endure all the pains of loneliness and must have an understanding heart.

    I admire this post, such an inspiring message for all the seafarer's wife out there. My brother used to go NSMS and was a crew at a cruise ship. He has been away for about a year now.
