The Moon Represents My Heart

Many times you asked...
how  much I love you...
and how great is my love for you...
My answer is in the lyrics of this song,
my affection is real...
my love is so true...
The moon represents my heart...
It  does not waver...
it does not change...
The moon represents  my heart,
with a soft gentle kiss and
a great deep love for you,
It will  stay....in ME ...
in my heart and  in my memory,
for as long as I live!

2010 ...As the year is about to pass

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step by Lao Tzu"  has always been a beacon in my life's adventure, so do with Feng Shui beliefs, Chinese Astrology and other Chinese/Filipino traditions. To some , they find it awkward, but to me, nothing is lost believing and following them.
As a Scorpion, born in the year of the Metal Ox, 2010 was foretold to be a challenging year in all aspects of my life, health, finances and relationships.

My Air Cast Walker experience

Last September 26,2010, I slid off  in the floor of our bath room in the Master's bed room. The accidental fall left me with a fractured bone in my left foot metatarsal as shown in the X-ray results. My son immediately brought me to the Manila Doctors Hospital emergency room. They temporarily cast  my injured foot and was referred for further evaluation to an Orthopedic surgeon who is available the following day, as it happened on a Sunday.
All the while, I was worried because I can not imagine myself walking on crutches, not only because it is inconvenient but because I am afraid of losing balance  with the heavy cast on one foot. Besides, no one is available to help me around because my son is busy with school and hubby is onboard.
When we consulted Dr. Bautista, an Orthopedic Surgeon at Manila Doctors Hospital,  I was given the option to go on surgery or to try healing it with-out surgical intervention using an FP Air Cast Walker.
As explained, by using the Air Cast Walker, I can walk unaided, with lesser hassles to my son who is very, very busy with his thesis in school being a graduating student.  So, we opted to choose the use of an Air cast Walker. Upon knowing of the accidental fall, hubby  planned to take an emergency leave, but I told him that we will try to observe it first, how far we can handle the situation.

The situation was appeased using the Air Cast Walker. I survived the healing ordeal of a  fractured bone for 10 weeks using the later.  During my recuperating days, I was so glad that my former work mates in Iligan visited to check how I was doing. Indeed, I was touched by their gesture of concern and thoughtfulness. As the lyrics of the song goes.. "that's what friends are for...in good times and bad times...."
It was good enough that they saw me at a time when I can already manage living  and walking with my new accessory. We had  seven hours of chika (storytelling) marathon, bonding just like the way we were.
With  Visiting Friends (Mila and Agnes)
The whole experience has given me, a taste of what a disabled life is. Some perks of which are: 1.) the use of the disabled parking at the mall. Yes, I can still manage to drive because the car is on Automatic transmission and the injured foot was the left one. 2.) Be among the first to board the aircraft on a wheel chair  on my way to Cebu for my parents Golden Wedding Anniversary last October 30, 2010. My Doctor allowed me to take the Air Cast Off for three(3) hours, with a double dose of pain reliever, and most of all to wear flat shoes only.
To date, my injured foot is back to its original size (no more swelling), but I can still feel the pain, especially during cold weather, when lifting heavy loads and doing high impact activities. Thank God for helping me out, to make it through. Thank You Earl for patiently taking care of me...and to hubby, am sorry for making you worry. How to lose the 15lbs weight gained during the healing weeks with-out medical interventions?  That will be another challenge to brace with, given the holiday season and the limitations of the body metabolism  of a soon to be golden girl.

Wonderful Wings

I got this story from an email, and  I can't let the day pass with-out sharing it here in my blog. The painters did a wonderful art, but below story in God's wings says more:
After a forest fire in Yellowstone National Park, forest rangers began their trek up a mountain to assess the inferno's damage. One ranger found a bird literally petrified in ashes, perched statuesquely on the ground at the base of a tree. Somewhat sickened by the eerie sight, he knocked over the bird with a stick.. When he gently struck it, three tiny chicks scurried from under their dead mother's wings. The loving mother, keenly aware of impending disaster, had carried her offspring to the base of the tree and had gathered them under her wings, instinctively knowing that the toxic smoke would rise. She could have flown to safety but had refused to abandon her babies. Then the blaze had arrived, and the heat had scorched her small body. The mother had remained steadfast  ... because she had been willing to die, so those under the cover of her wings would live. 'He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge.'  (Psalm 91:4)
Indeed, Time waits for no one. Treasure every moment you have. You will treasure it even more when you can share it with someone special, your family and friends. To realize the value of a friend ... lose one....but why dare to wait to lose, when you can make them feel important while still  around. Please pass this on to people you want to be blessed.

A glimpse on Relationships

When God created us, he also created someone in his likeness, who is meant to give the word Love  its definition. Oftentimes, we keep on chasing the ones we thought who truly loves us, blindly believing that he is the best and the right one for us. Until the time when the cruelty of fate lashes its whip against our dreams and illusions, that we experience the peaks and valleys of  the affairs of the heart that left us bitter instead of becoming  better.
Every relationship  is like a glass, take care of it..nurture it until it blooms like the flowers in the garden, because once it is broken it will never be the same again...
Just like any adventure, love has each own lesson to learn. The person  may be forgotten but the memories will always remain regardless if it brought us to cloud nine or not. Choose to be a better lover in the next relationship than you were  in the past, to start things right.
It always depends on how a woman carries a relationship that makes a man stay, and it depends on how a man shows consistent love that makes a woman endure the test of time and distance.

Good luck to all my friends who are on an "ldr" (long distance relationships) as I am.
