The Modified Gratitude Challenge

Some of my friends had embarked  The Modified "Gratitude Challenge" in Facebook. When nominated, you just need to list three things that you are grateful for over 5 days. And each day nominate  at least two (2) others to take on this challenge and share.
As a response to said nomination, starting out Day 1 of 5:
1.)Today, I am grateful for the patience of the man who taught me how to turn Hatred into Love.
2.)Thank you, for making boring days at sea into memorable nights.

3.)Likewise, thanking you for the encouragement to wake up early, to catch the sunrise
and look forward to seeing a beautiful sunset at the end of the day.
From this day forward, I commit to living on the brighter side of life.

Crossroads

It is always a fact  that at some point in our existence we reached some  deciding point, life offers us choices and to be able to get by, we must be ready which direction to take. Tip toe if we must but we have to take the choice and face the consequence that goes with it. Study the pros and cons and choose the best option. Something that will make you happy and can give you peace of mind and if things don't turn out as expected at least you can handle it well.

Thoughts on Relationships

Whether we admit it or not, at one point in our married life, we asked ourselves  are we with the right partner? Then we wonder " How do I know if  I am with the right person?"

Every relationship has a cycle… In the beginning; we fall in love with our partner. we anticipate their calls, want their touch, and like their idiosyncrasies. Falling in love wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and a spontaneous process. We didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called "falling" in love.
Falling in love is a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few months or years of being together, the euphoria of love fades. It's a natural cycle of EVERY relationship.

Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's idiosyncrasies, instead of being cute, it  drive us nuts. The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship; we will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when we were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage.

At this point, we and or our partner might start asking, "Am I with the right person?" And as  we reflect on the euphoria of the love we once had, we  may begin to desire that experience with someone else. This is when relationships breakdown.

The key to succeeding in a relationship is not in  finding the right person; it's learning to love the person we found.

SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. We have to work on it day in and day out. It takes time, effort, and energy. And most importantly, it demands WISDOM.  We have to know WHAT TO DO to make it work and make no mistake about it. God determines who walks into our life. It is up to us to decide who, to let walk away, who will stay, and refuse to let GO!
Love is  a "decision" and the best part of loving is not in wishing that the person loves us back as much as we do. It is in realizing that we  the person far more than we thought we could."  :)

Seasons of Life

How to live life is always a daunting choice. In each season or phases, experience either break or make us a better person. The people we meet and our attitude towards the circumstances that besets us matter on how we approach every situation but, in the end it is the lessons learned from our decisions that truly matters.

Thank You

A picture fades, but the memories remain. It is a treasure that cannot be more appreciated than with Time. I'm grateful; that the years have not taken that much of its toll in me. Thank you Lord for the gift of LIFE and LIVING!!! Thank you dear relatives and friends for being there through thick and thin. Most of all, thanks for the LOVE and CARE Sir Captain! xoxo

When Tomorrow never comes

As we go through life, familiarity can sometimes seem like permanence. Oftentimes, the more comfortable we are with someone, the less effort we put into our time with them.
It was seven months ago, when we learnt that my brother in law was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer with metastasis to the lungs and liver. We had the chance to visit him last November 2012, after his 6th chemo session. We thought he was doing well with the treatment, because he was looking good and eating well. A month later, the bad news came of his deteriorating state and eventual passing. In that transient state between there and there, I’ve learned a lot about what it really means to be here—to recognize that everything changes and appreciate it all while it lasts. Moments are really so fleeting.
The reality is that nothing permanent in this  life, each moment is a gift so spend it well. Occasionally, we may take each other for granted but every moment we have together is valuable. Whether or not it feels that way is entirely up to us.

A Twist of Fate

It was in the afternoon of October 31, 1974 when the  fateful accident happened that
brought a lifetime change to the once beautiful and adorable, young adolescent girl called "eigh"  by her friends and family. Back in our hometown in Liloan, Southern Leyte,
Philppines when I was still a high school sophomore, we use to clean our classrooms everyday. Our school was a private school, but it was part of our youth civic action program that we were given assignment to clean our rooms and do some civic activities in our town. We just
cleaned our public cemetery in time for the All Saints Day celebrations, where we accumulated numerous amount  of used candles.

Believe In Yourself

Never doubt about the extent of what you can do.
Do what you love to do... because no one knows yourself better than you.
Life is too short to live on others' dreams.
Follow your own...Push yourself to reach your goals,
And live the life you once dreamed.

Life is an echo

Life  is a series of hits and misses,
and what you do to others always comes back to you.

A Better Treasure

Life is short, and when our time on earth is up, the legacy we left behind in the hearts and minds of our friends and families is what matters most. Spend time wisely and do create meaningful memories.

Trying to be happy by accumulating possessions
is like trying to satisfy hunger
by taping sandwiches all over your body.

Believe

We all wished, dreamed and aspired to be successful in life. But
success is a vehicle
which moves on a wheel
called Hard Work.
Furthermore, the
the journey is impossible
without the fuel called
Self Confidence,
and the blessings from the Almighty!

The Pareto Principle in marriage

Down memory lane during my engineering management
trainee days, we were thought of the pareto principle...
that was we simply called as the 80/20 rule. In management, it serve as a daily reminder to focus 80 percent of your time and energy on the 20 percent of your work that is really important.
Don't just "work smart", work smart on the right things.

The essence of Positive Thinking

When confronted with doubts, I asked myself how to handle life's affairs? Inside my room at home, I found some of the answers by simply looking at the following items and what they stand for in me.

Ten Lovely logics

These are some good insights and i wanted to add my own to make it ten(10):
8.) Don't tell lies
9.) Be the friend you would like to have.
10.) In times of trouble.... Hope and pray for the best but prepare for the worst
