Celebrating Your Life Papa

The eulogy, I delivered during Papa's funeral mass last February 26, 2011 at St. Ignatius Loyola Parish,  in Liloan Southern Leyte.
Good morning everyone, Thank You for coming and expressing your moral support in these difficult times of our life, as we mourned the passing of our dear departed Papa.....
Thirty four years ago, I stood before my high school classmates to deliver my valedictory address in this parish. I never thought that with your graduation from the University of Life, I will be speaking again, in its Celebration.
You are Papa Jun-jun to your children, Guakong to your Grand children, Dinggya to your brothers and sisters, while some of your friends call you Boss or King..You graduated from the University of  life earning all those names.
Looking back, as we rekindle our fond memories with you, the following words of wisdom  served as our guiding light:
Maningkamot mong makahuman sa inyong pag esculya kay anak man mo ug pobre...mao ra nay akong ikabilin ninyo nga dili pwede makawat ug mabaligya!!!
Some People frowned at you because of your simple joys...as a VIP member of Club ABS ( ALAK, BABAE, SUGAL). However, had you lived your life differently, will all of your children be where they are now? Maybe YES, Maybe NOT!!! But one thing is definite. WE become the MEN and WOMEN that we are today because We had YOU as A FATHER, who INSPIRED US TO MAKE THE BEST OUT OF THE WORST!  For all, that we become today, we owe it to the values formed during our growing up years with you. Thank you for the memories Papa and the legacy of love, kindness and generosity.
If success and happiness  are defined and measured by the material possessions  acquired in the University of Life, then maybe BALIKTORYAN ka...but GOD is so GOOD that nothing is ABSOLUTE in this LIFE...Everything changes, some say because the world is round, at ang buhay ay weather -weather lang, with that you LIVED a life with flying colors, graduating with HIGHEST HONORS AND DISTINCTIONS. We will stand proud to be known as "ANAK ni JUN-JUN...TINDERA/ TINDERO ug PAN"

During your four years bout with diabetes,  we are torn between holding on and letting go when breaking loose is neither a choice nor a chance. In those moments you  strengthened in me, the virtues of: FORGIVENESS and HUMILITY. We are deeply Sorry, if the battle of  brains of your children had added to the pains of your illness. However, with your passing, we are leaving everything behind, realizing that ANGER is just a letter short of the word DANGER. We will all, move on with  life restoring all ties in a loving and orderly fashion.
Papa, you may be physically gone but people will remember you in the way I walk and in our hearts, YOU will reign and live forever. You left something "BEAUTIFUL" behind in each of us, and we pray that someday we can  pay it FORWARD  to the PEOPLE and the PLACE where you  have spent the past  five(5) decades of your life.
When we look back and the images we cherished, are  memories that have gone ahead …all that is left of  us, is the faith that there is always a purpose; the hope that endings are always beautiful beginnings; and the conviction that your journey is the completion of God's Master Plan.

Papa, you will always be a KAPUSO, KAPAMILYA,and KAPATID.
Now, that you are safely laden in God's harbor.
Go in Peace, Papa. WE LOVE YOU!!!  Please continue to watch over us  from above.

  5. Amco,

It's a long and winding road for that dream, it's not a smooth ride, struggle is always be a part of it before one of his offspring will fulfill that dream. Let's keep our fingerscross.
