I was feeling euphoric, finding out that most of my high school, college and ex-work mates are getting into social networking, reconnecting, renewing, strengthening further the bonds of friendships , and catching up with each other's lives, but still showing the best and worst part of us, with no camouflage at all, only moderating our comments for the sake of general patronage. ^-^
When the number of friends in my face book account increased, at first, I was wondering if I really have such numerous friends. But I truly believe, that these are all amazing and wonderful creatures. Are they really friends or just acquaintances on my journey through life? Well, some maybe are…mere acquaintances... or some are even ghost of the past, but definitely most are not.
I met wonderful and weird people in the last eight years of my life through the Internet. These people, whom I can also rely on, to cherish and treasure for who they are. We have gone past the obscene Internet connection, as communications moved into a deeper understanding, face-to-face, love and communication. Built over time, these friendships continued to grow and no doubt will remain to be friends to whom our children will even refer each other to as: "titas" and "titos".
Of course, I am not saying that I am leaving my old non-internet friends. Definitely not!!! because all my relationships are unique and significant in their own ways. And when people asked me: can you really have true friends over the internet? I can turn around and tell them YES!!! And when I say that, I believe every single word, with deep emotions and sincere meaning behind the word because most of my old buddies are now living miles away from me ...and yet we still show and feel the same LOVE, CARE and CONCERN, the way we used to be.
Cheers to the love and friendship!!!
